Talaria Sting XXX Review: Is the Triple X Worth It?
The Talaria Sting XXX — also known as the Talaria Triple X or Talaria X — sits between the standard Sting R and the MX5 Pro in the Talaria range. It shares the proven Sting frame but uses a unique battery configuration that makes it the most upgrade-friendly Talaria ever built.
What Makes the Talaria XXX Different?
The XXX designation refers to the battery system architecture. Where the standard Sting MX3 and MX4 use a conventional integrated 60V pack, the Talaria Sting XXX uses a modular configuration designed to accept high-capacity upgrade batteries — including the EBMX 74V 44Ah pack (30kW peak) and eWatt 72V Race Battery.
This makes the XXX the preferred starting point for riders who want to run a 72V or 74V upgrade battery, as the chassis clearances and wiring are designed for the higher-spec packs.
Talaria XXX Specs
Motor: 6kW peak (stock). Battery: 60V (standard configuration). Top speed: ~47mph stock. Weight: similar to standard Sting R at approximately 95kg. Wheels: 19/16in. Suspension: full adjustable front and rear.
Talaria XXX vs Sting R vs MX5 Pro
Choose the Sting R (MX4) if you want a capable, reliable off-road bike at a competitive price with standard 60V power. Choose the Talaria XXX Pro if you plan to upgrade to a 72V or 74V battery — the XXX's architecture makes it significantly easier. Choose the MX5 Pro (Sting Pro) if you want the factory 72V system without the need for aftermarket modifications.
Upgrade Potential
The XXX's headline advantage is its upgrade compatibility. The EBMX 74V 44Ah battery delivers 30kW peak — five times the stock output — and is a relatively straightforward installation on the XXX chassis. With an EBMX X-9000 controller, this transforms the Triple X into a 60mph+ machine with proper enduro capability.
