Talaria Komodo Review: The 22kW Flagship That Undercuts Everyone
The Talaria Komodo (TL6000) is Talaria's high-performance flagship — a 22kW electric dirt bike with a top speed around 66mph and up to 70 miles of range, built on full-size dirt bike geometry with 21in/18in wheels. At £5,495 it's Talaria's answer to the high-end electric performance bikes, and it lands at a price that seriously undercuts the established full-power competition. Here's the complete UK buyer's guide.

Talaria's step into the big leagues
Talaria built its reputation on the Sting — a brilliant lightweight trail bike, but a trail bike nonetheless. The Komodo is a different proposition entirely: proper 21in/18in dirt bike wheels, generous ground clearance, a long wheelbase and a 22kW peak motor that puts it in genuine competition with 350–450cc petrol machinery. It's the bike Talaria riders asked for once they'd outgrown the Sting, and it slots into the market squarely between the lightweight class and premium competition machines like the Stark Varg.
Performance: Eco, Sport and Hyper
Three forward ride modes cover the Komodo's huge performance envelope. Eco delivers soft, range-friendly power for technical singletrack; Sport is the strong everyday setting; Hyper unlocks the full 22kW and the ~66mph top speed. The throttle uses a dual-sensor design for redundancy and precision — the bike responds to small inputs with an accuracy that makes the big power feel manageable rather than intimidating. A reverse mode (genuinely useful on a bike this size) and four-level adjustable regenerative braking complete the package. The regen system is worth highlighting: dialled up, it behaves like engine braking and claws back meaningful range on descents.
Battery, range and charging
The Komodo's removable high-capacity pack delivers up to 70 miles at a steady pace — one of the strongest range figures in the class, and a big part of why the Komodo works as an all-day trail bike rather than a short-session machine. Ridden hard in Hyper mode, expect less, as with any performance EV. The pack removes for indoor charging, and our battery & charger guide covers how to keep a big lithium pack healthy long-term.
Chassis and suspension
Long-travel adjustable air forks up front and an adjustable rear shock give the Komodo genuine rough-terrain capability, and air suspension brings a practical bonus: sag and spring rate adjust without tools or new springs. Four-piston hydraulic brakes at both ends handle the speeds this bike reaches. The full-size ergonomics suit adult riders — shorter riders should check the tall dirt-bike seat height before committing.
Komodo vs Sting MX5 Pro — and vs the Storm Bee
Within Talaria's own range, the Komodo sits far above the Sting MX5 Pro: roughly double the power, full-size wheels versus 19in, and £1,500 more. The MX5 Pro is the lighter, more playful trail bike; the Komodo is the full-power machine. Against the Sur-Ron Storm Bee (£7,999, 21.5kW), the Komodo matches the headline power figure while undercutting it by £2,500 — the Storm Bee counters with Sur-Ron's longer-established parts ecosystem. Both are superb; the Komodo is the value play in the full-power class. For the wider brand picture, see our Sur-Ron vs Talaria comparison.
Who is the Talaria Komodo for?
Experienced off-road riders stepping up from a Sting, an Ultra Bee or a petrol trail bike, who want full-size electric performance without a full-size price. The 22kW output demands respect — this is not a first electric dirt bike. It's off-road only for private land use; our road-legal guide covers UK requirements for road use.
Verdict
The Komodo is the bike that moves Talaria from challenger to genuine contender at the top of the market. Match-of-the-class power, standout range and full-size geometry at £5,495 make it arguably the strongest value in high-performance electric dirt bikes right now.
